Charles James Blomfield (1786 – 1857), was one of the most influential leaders of the Church of England during a critical period in its history. The Blomfield Papers are of singular importance as the work of one of the architects of Victorian England. Correspondents include not only the leaders of the church, but also prominent lay figures such as Shaftesbury, Edwin Chadwick and Miss Burdett-Coutts.
