At Lambeth Palace Library.

The papers of the Earls of Shrewsbury range from the 15th to the early 17th centuries. They were important capitalists in the first Industrial Revolution, and their papers contain valuable and detailed material on the development of mineral rights, notably lead and steel, in the Midland counties, and on financing their operations. For the social historian, their papers provide a vivid and intimate picture of life in a great Elizabethan and Jacobean household.
